VICTORIA'S BRYDEN MACPHERSON WINS THE 2008
SCHWEPPES TASMANIAN JUNIOR MASTERS (BOYS' DIVISION)
Bryden MacPherson, from the Peninsula Country
Golf Club in Victoria, has won the 2008 Schweppes Tasmanian Junior Masters (Boys'
Division).
The 17-year-old played consistently around the
Kingston Beach course on Sunday and Monday to win the Australian Boy’s
Order of Merit event.
MacPherson shot rounds of 69, 68, 69 and 70,
an eight-under total of 276, to win by five strokes from early leader
Chris Wood, of Queensland (64, 70, 73, 74).
Seabrook junior Leslie Chamberlain performed
the best of the local entrants, and in doing so claimed the closed Tasmanian
junior title.
Chamberlain’s rounds of 73, 70, 70 and 73
comfortably accounted for his nearest local rival Jason Bennett, who finished
fourteen over par.
The junior two-man teams trophy, named after
the late John Michael, went to Victoria, represented by MacPherson
and Lachlan Cain.

SEABROOKS' ABBEY GIBBINS WINS THE 2008
SCHWEPPES TASMANIAN JUNIOR MASTERS (GIRLS' DIVISION)
Seabrook’s Abbey Gibbins with rounds of 83,
86, 84 and 77 has won the 2008 Schweppes Tasmanian Junior Maters (Girls'
Division).
The Runner-up was Penguin Alexandra Roughley
with scores of 80, 85, 85 and 86.
