2008 Tasmanian Men's Pennant Finals

Home town favourites, Launceston, captured
division one of the men’s state pennant finals last Sunday at the Mowbray
Golf Club.
The 36 hole contest saw the boys from Kings
Meadows convincingly defeat reigning champions Tasmania Golf Club 5-2.
For Launceston Greg Longmore defeated Stuart
Bonnitcha 10/9, James Pyke conquered Paul Read 8/7, Jack Carswell overcame
Craig Christie 2/1 and Brett Churchill routed Darren Pybus 13/11.
Tasmania’s two match points were achieved by
Neil Faulks defeating Stuart Crosswell 5/4, and Mark Schulze and Andrew
Phillips halving their matches with Adam Ring and Sean Harris respectively.
Division two was won by the Riverside Golf
Club who also defeated Tasmania 5½-1½.
Alex Males, Dale Ridgers, Glenn White, Ross
Clark and Simon Rossiter were all victorious for Riverside.
While Tasmania tasted success through Josh
Spaulding who defeated Guy Bellchambers 1up playing at number one and Bill
Wellington halving his match with Rod Campbell.
In division three, played at the Riverside
Golf Club, Mowbray defeated Colebrook 5½-1½.
